Goddesses Power.

One of the most fascinating aspects of ancient women’s history is the goddesses.

Every culture around the globe worshipped many goddesses and gods, and most often the Supreme Universal force was considered feminine.

Thousands of glorious goddesses were worshipped for eons and by every culture. Each deity possessed Her own superpowers that represented a natural phenomenon and /or human trait. The Goddesses had the power to control nature, such as weather and crops, and other life events, such as birth and death.

Goddesses also possessed the qualities of mortal women, such as love, intelligence, sexuality, and wrath.

In some cultures, Goddesses were personified and imagined as existing in human form. In some cultures, goddesses were represented by an animal, such as a cat, bird, or fish. Other times, She was symbolized by an element in nature, such as the moon, a star, water, a shell.

Myths and stories about the goddesses explained their powers, and how they were pleased or angered. The society’s traditions, festivals and rituals were designed around the worship of the Goddesses and their powers.

The worshippers celebrated their goddesses for blessings, healings, safety, victory, wealth, and comfort.

Women and men alike honored the Goddesses and Gods, for every form of power was respected.

In many Goddess-worshipping cultures around the world, people lived harmoniously. Women were considered equal with men.

When goddess cultures were destroyed, and women (and men) forced to worship a single male God, women lost a channel to their power. They lost their status in the world.

But now we can find it again by taking time to explore individual Goddesses and/or the Goddesses of various cultures.

Through the Goddesses, we can recognize the divine within ourselves, which uplifts and empowers our entire being. Many women find it much easier to connect with the Divine through Goddesses.

Information on every Goddess abounds! There are thousands of websites and books on the subject of Goddesses, so just jump in.
